Geovisionary: tools for visualising ATLAS data

Description

Geovisionary software was developed by the British Geological Survey (BGS) in conjunction with Virtalis. This specialist software allows for high-resolution visualisation of spatial data. Large, multisource, and complex datasets can be viewed and interpreted. Geovisionary has a diverse range of application and has been extensively used for field reconnaissance, high-resolution mapping and monitoring and mineral resource exploration. However, to date, Geovisionary has had limited application to marine environments, which we aim to develop through collaboration with ATLAS partners.

As part of the ATLAS project, we have recognised the value of this software for provision of outreach and communication materials, particularly focussed on the case study areas. This talk will present a first pass at a fly over of the case study areas to illustrate capability. Further discussion will focus on the development of materials for ATLAS and the potential to tailor needs of specific case study or work package leads within the ATLAS.
