Exploring conflicts between stakeholders in tourism industry. Citizen attitude toward peer-to-peer accommodation platforms
Creators
Description
The study aims to analyse the variation in the perception of the impacts associated with peer-to-peer accommodation platforms by different stakeholders, as well as to identify which types of impacts generate the most conflict. Through an exploratory study based on 600 online surveys of local residents in Granada, Spain, it seeks to understand which impacts are perceived as more positive or negative by each group and to create conflict indices on these perceptions. The findings suggest a greater consensus in the valuation of economic impacts, with the preservation of housing being the aspect that generates the greatest conflicts, especially between owners of tourist accommodation and citizens dependent on tourism. This study stands out for its originality as one of the first to analyse the perception of tourism impacts associated with online rental platforms and the conflicts arising from them, suggesting the need for future research in different settings and a more in-depth analysis of the conflicts identified.
