Remarks. Identification of the present material follows Bauchot-Boutin (1954), who separates Serrivomer schmidti from the very similar S. beani by the number of caudal-fin rays (seven for the former and five to six for the latter). USU 0 1404 was reported by Séret and Andreata (1992) as Platuronides danae.
