An Investigation of Adults' Language Aptitude

This research aimed to analyze adults’ language aptitude towards a new language and to find out to what extent are the lack of adults in understanding a new language. The result was presented descriptively based on the case that the research that took place. Subjects were adult learners. MLAT was given to the subjects they are given 40 minutes to do the test. It was found out that the adult learners lack awareness towards the pattern of language. They are not aware enough of the nouns as subject and object, and singular or plural ones. This misled to mistranslation. This matter leads to the assumption that from the four components of language aptitude, they lack inductive learning. For, in the very first time, the subjects were given time to have a silent period when they were in an attempt to understand the concept of the new language.
