Biogeochemical contents of subglacial sediments exposed by glacier retreat in the Arctic.

  • 1. Charles University

Description

Uploaded data provide biogeochemical contents of subglacial sediments collected from melting fronts of Arctic glaciers.
These sediments are critical to an early stage of soil development and ecological succession of proglacial lands. Presented data compile composition of sediments retrieved from 19 Arctic glaciers -- this includes elemental composition (X-ray Fluorescence), contents of major nutrients (i.e. nitrogen, carbon, sulphur, phosphorus including individual phosphorus fractions), organic matter biomarkers (i.e. aliphatic lipids, lignin-derived phenols), and radiocarbon age.
