Description
Corona Immunitas Fribourg aims to estimate the number and proportion of people in the canton of Fribourg who have developed antibodies against the SARS-CoV-2 virus following an infection or vaccination. It is carried out within the framework of the national Corona Immunitas programme which started in 2020 under the lead of the Swiss School of Public Health (SSPH+). In this report we present the results of the 3rd study conducted in the Summer 2021 in the canton of Fribourg. The results show that by August 2021, 74% (95% confidence interval: 69% to 79%) of the population aged 20 years and older had developed anti-Spike IgG antibodies. The proportions were 69% in the 20-64 age group and 91% in the 65+ age group. These relatively high rates can be explained by the large number of people vaccinated, especially among those aged 65 and over, but also by the increase in the number of people who got infected.
