Description
This is a recording of Abia Bai by the riverbank of the Morehead river. The recording is part of a birdwalk together with Chris Healey and Julia Colleen Miller. Abia talks about a particular bird and other sounds that headhunter used to imitate to fool their potential vicitims. The recording was made close to Rouku village, Western Province, Papua New Guinea.

The material was recorded by Christian Döhler as part of a language documentation project for his PhD. The project was located at the School of Culture, History and Language at the Australian National University, Canberra. For the most part it was funded by the DOBES project of the Volkswagen Foundation.
