Bathyechiniscus tetronyx n. g. n. sp. (Steiner 1926)

Davis Sea:

66°02′S, 89°38′E; 385 m bsl: Type Locality: [FAO58] Antarctica, near Wilhelm II Land, Gauss station, sediments. Steiner (1926)

Remarks: This species with an uncertain diagnosis is in need of redescription. In the past, some specimens from Europe and the USA were attributed to this taxon, but these were later re-examined and attributed to Styraconyx sargassi. Presently the taxonomic position of this taxon is unclear and the genus/species is known only from the type locality (see also remarks in S. craticulus).
