Description

Munidopsis curvirostra Whiteaves, 1874

Munidopsis curvirostra has also been reported as Munidopsis curvirostris (see Baba et al. 2008) from the North Atlantic in depths of 146 to 2200 m (Whiteaves 1874; Hansen 1908; Wenner 1982; Baba et al. 2008). Three specimens were measured for M. curvirostra: one male (CW = 6.2 mm), one female (7.9 mm), and one ovigerous female (CW = 7.3 mm). All specimens were collected off Havana, Cuba in depths of 363 m. Ovigerous females have been reported as larger than males, with fecundities of five to 52 eggs (Wenner 1982).
