Cape Razorfish. To 15.9 cm (6.4 in) SL (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California). Bahía Magdalena (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California); Cabo San Lucas, southern Baja California (Thomson et al. 1979), and central Gulf of California to central Mexico (Robertson and Allen 2002). Depth: 3–27 m (10–90 ft) (min.: John Snow, pers. comm. to M.L.; max.: Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California).
