Description
Stegastes rectifraenum (Gill, 1862).
Cortez Damselfish or Cortez Gregory. To 16 cm (6.3 in) TL (John Snow, pers. comm. to M.L.). Isla San Martín (30°28’N, 116°07’W) (M.L., unpubl. data), northern Baja California to Pucusana, Peru (Chirichigno and Vélez 1998), including Gulf of California (Thomson et al. 1979) and Islas Revillagigedo.Depth: intertidal to 27 m (90 ft) (min.: Thomson and Lehner 1976; max.: Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California).
