Description
Cirrhitus rivulatus Valenciennes, 1846.
Giant Hawkfish or Hieroglyphic Hawkfish. To 62 cm (24.4 in) (Jiménez Prado and Béarez 2004). Bahía Magdalena, southern Baja California (Galván-Magaña et al. 2000) to northern Peru (Robertson and Allen 2015), including Gulf of California (Bussing and Lavenberg in Fischer et al. 1995) and Islas Galápagos (Grove and Lavenberg 1975). Depth: intertidal to 30 m (98 ft) (min.: Weaver 1970; max.: Robertson and Allen 2008).
