Selene brevoortii
Description
Selene brevoortii (Gill, 1863).
Mexican Lookdown. To 42 cm (16.5 in) TL (Robertson and Allen 2002). Seal Beach, southern California (Jarvis et al. 2009) to northern Chile (Sielfeld et al. 2010), including Gulf of California (Smith-Vaniz in Fischer et al. 1995). Coastal waters, including bays and estuaries (Watson et al. in Moser 1996); depth: 2–165 m (8–541 ft) (min.: Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California; max.: Morera et al. 2019).
