Oligoplites altus
Description
Oligoplites altus (Günther, 1868).
Longjaw Leatherjack or Smallmouthed Leatherjack. To 57.8 cm (22.8 in) FL (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California). Laguna San Ignacio, southern Baja California (Galván-Magaña et al. 2000) to Callao, Peru (Chirichigno and Vélez 1998), including Gulf of California (Smith-Vaniz in Fischer et al. 1995). Nearshore marine and estuaries (Allen and Robertson 1994), occasionally in freshwater (Argulo et al. 2020); depth: 0 to 30 m (98 ft) (Robertson and Allen 2002).
