Description
Rhinoliparis barbulifer Gilbert, 1896.
Longnose Snailfish. To 11 cm (4.3 in) TL (Mecklenburg et al. 2002). Sea of Okhotsk; Pacific Ocean off northern Honshu and Hokkaido; Commander Islands; Umnak Pass and vicinity of Unalaska Island to southern California (32° 38°8’N) (NWFSC-FRAM). Depth: 28–1,500 m (92–4,921 ft) (min.: Orlov and Tokranov 2019; max.: Mecklenburg et al. 2002); also an outlying record of 2,189 m (7,180 ft) (Federov et al. 2003). Classified by some authors in Paraliparis.
