Gymnocanthus detrisus Gilbert & Burke, 1912.

Purplegray Sculpin. To 48 cm (18.9 in) TL (Tokranov and Orlov 2012). Pacific and Okhotsk coasts of Hokkaido, Japan (Nakabo in Nakabo 2002) to eastern Bering Sea, Alaska (Mecklenburg et al. 2002), to at least 62°39’N, 172°24’W (Personal communication: University of Washington, Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture Fish Collection, Seattle, Washington). Benthic; depth: 15–595 m (49–1,952 ft) (min.: Sheiko and Federov 2000; max.: Tokranov and Orlov 2012).
