Sebastes hopkinsi

Description

Sebastes hopkinsi (Cramer, 1895).

Squarespot Rockfish. To 29 cm (11.5 in) TL (Eschmeyer and Herald 1983). A 38 cm (15 in) FL record (Keller et al. 2019) is likely in error (Aimee Keller, pers. comm. to M.L.). Washington (47°20’N) (NWFSC-FRAM) to Isla de Cedros and Islas de San Benitos (Ramírez-Valdez et al. 2015) and Punta Eugenia - Isla Natividad, central Baja California (Christopher Dewees, pers. comm. to M.L.), and Isla Guadalupe, central Baja California (Chen 1971). Benthic; depth: 15–305 m (50–1,000 ft) (min.: M.L., unpubl. data; max.: LACSD 2002).
