Sebastes auriculatus Girard, 1854.
Brown Rockfish. To 56 cm (22 in) TL (Kramer and O’Connell 1995). Prince William Sound, northern Gulf of Alaska (Rosenthal 1980) to Bahía Magdalena (Personal communication: Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History Fish Collection, Los Angeles, California). Benthic; depth: surface (nightlight; Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California), intertidal to 287 m (941 ft) (min.: Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California; max.: DFO).
