Scorpaena afuerae Hildebrand, 1946.

Peruvian Scorpionfish. To 38 cm (15 in) (John Snow, pers. comm. to M.L.). Todos Santos (23°24.6’N, 110°13.8’W), southern Baja California (John Snow, pers. comm. to M.L.), southern Gulf of California (John Snow, pers. comm. to M.L.), to Costa Rica through to Peru; Isla del Cocos (Robertson and Allen 2008). Benthic; depth: 35–100 m (115–320 ft) (Robertson and Allen 2015).
