Gambusia affinis

Description

** Gambusia affinis (Baird and Girard, 1853).

Western Mosquitofish. To 6 cm (2.4 in) TL. Native to tributaries running into Gulf of Mexico from southern Illinois to eastern Mexico, now introduced worldwide for mosquito control. Occasionally in brackish waters. All in Moyle (2002).
