Description

Cheilopogon dorsomacula (Fowler, 1944).

Blackspot Flyingfish. To about 23 cm (9.1 in) SL (Parin in Carpenter and Niem 1999). Pacific Ocean; southern Baja California (24°20’N, 113°14.0’W) (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California) to Peru (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California). Depth: epipelagic.
