Description

Tactostoma macropus Bolin, 1939.

Longfin Dragonfish. To 45.5 cm (17.9 in) SL (Aizawa in Nakabo 2002). Japan (Fujii in Masuda et al. 1984), and Sea of Okhotsk to Bering Sea (Mecklenburg et al. 2002) to Chile (Pequeño 1989). Primarily mesopelagic and bathypelagic; depth: 25 m or less to 4,100 m (82–13,448 ft) (min.: Mecklenburg et al. 2002; max.: Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California).
