Salvelinus alpinus

Description

* Salvelinus alpinus (Linnaeus, 1758).

Arctic Char. To 96 cm (37.8 in) TL (Page and Burr 1991). Circumpolar; in Alaska, in Arctic, Bering Sea, and western Gulf of Alaska drainages. Anadromous on Chukchi Peninsula, Siberia; but lacustrine, not known to be anadromous, in Alaska. All except maximum length in Mecklenburg et al. (2002).
