Lile stolifera
Description
Lile stolifera (Jordan & Gilbert, 1882).
Pacific Piquintinga or Striped Herring. To 15.9 cm (6.3 in) TL (Coello et al. 2021). Bahía Ballenas (26°40’N, 113°30’W), southern Baja California (Grove and Lavenberg 1994) to Puerto Pizarro, Peru (Chirichigno and Vélez 1974), including Gulf of California (Whitehead and Rodríguez-Sánchez in Fischer et al. 1995) and Islas Galápagos (Grove and Lavenberg 1997). Marine, brackish, and fresh waters (Allen and Robertson 1994); depth: surface (nightlight; Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California), 1–3 m (3–10 ft) (min.: González-Acosta et al. 1999; max.: Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California).
