the article considers the need for ERP-systems in the management structure of a modern organization. In the course of the work, the main features of the ERP system, the specifics of its implementation, are disclosed, as well as the German SAP ERP system are substantively examined. The author draws attention to the SAP module: PP, which implies production management. The article reveals the main differences and capabilities of SAP in the management of a manufacturing company, as well as presents the frequently used functions of the PP module. In addition, the author considered the availability of combining the PP module with other program modules to achieve the most effective managerial control of production processes. In the second part of the article, the differences in the functioning of food production in the market are highlighted and the requirements that the ERP system must meet are controllability, variability, and automation of the management process. In the conclusion of the article, the main problems that the head of the enterprise is faced with when implementing an ERP system are highlighted.
