Description

Cypselurus opisthopus (Bleeker 1865) —Black-finned flyingfish

Status at New Ireland. First recorded from Ningin Island, New Ireland by Munro (1958: 137).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 3.—General distribution: Andaman Sea east to Philippines and Solomon Islands, north to Ryukyu Islands. Epipelagic in oceanic waters, 0–20 m depth. Marine.
