In this divulgative article, we present the european project FuturEnzyme, its context, what we are doing and why, to a broad audience. In here we also give general details of how we are going to develop enzymes for the improvement of daily-use products (cosmetics, textiles and detergents) while minimizing the impact of its production or use to the environment.
