Description
Oculolabrus qiqi nov.sp.
M a t e r i a l s t u d i e d: Holotype: Yunnan, Gongshan coun., Qiqi, 1900 m, L. Tang 2.VII.2010 (SNUC).
D e s c r i p t i o n: Length of body about 13 mm; from anterior margin of head to posterior margin of elytra: 7 mm. Entirely black; antennae brown black, legs brown black with yellowish tarsi. Head, pronotum and elytra as in Fig. 37. Puncturation of head very deep. Puncturation of elytra very fine. Pubescence of the body long and yellowish. Labrum as in Fig. 38. Abdomen with traces of polygonal micro-reticulation and fine, sparse puncturation, arranged in few series.
Male unknown.
E t y m o l o g y: The specific epithet refers to the type locality, as a noun in apposition.
G e o g r a p h i c a l d i s t r i b u t i o n: The species is known only from the type locality, in Yunnan.
N o t e Oculolabrus STEEL 1946 are very rare Xantholinini. There are currently six known species collected in southern India, Laos, Sumatra, Fujian (O. chinensis BORDONI 2002), and Sabah, for a total of 17 specimens!
The new species differs from the congeners by the very large size and by the puncturation.
