Figure 2. One of the eight most parsimonious trees resulting from the TNT analysis of the eustyline/geonemine matrix (see the Appendix; L = 239 steps; CI = 66; RI = 91), with preferred character state optimizations, as follows: ACCTRAN optimization, characters 39, 40, 83, 116, and 129; DELTRAN optimization, characters 3, 7, 17, 23, 32, 58, 84, 85, and 123. Black rectangles indicate (single) non-homoplasious character state transformations, whereas the white rectangles indicate (multiple) homoplasious character state transformations. The numbers above and below each rectangle correspond to the coded characters and states, respectively. See also Figure 1.
