Type species: Neoseiulus barkeri Hughes, 1948.

Diagnosis. Neoseiulus is a large genus containing 268 known species and another 34 uncertain species (Chant & McMurtry, 2003a). Setae s4, Z4 and Z5 never greatly larger than other lateral dorsal setae, ventri-anal shield never vase shape or oval, seta JV2 well removed from anterior margin; ventri-anal shield never more than twice as wide as genital shield, legs I–III usually without macrosetae; male with spermatophoral process of the heel and-toe variant, elongate or T-shaped; fixed digit of chelicera usually with few teeth (Chant & McMurtry, 2003a).
