Description

Genus Pilochaeta Dubinin

Pilochaeta tringae (Dubinin, 1951)

Hosts and distribution. This species was described ex Tringa stagnatilis (Bechstein) (Charadriiformes: Scolopacidae) from Russia (Barabinsk steppe) (Dubinin 1951). Later on, it was recollected ex Tringa totanus from Russia (Volga delta) (Dubinin 1956), ex T. stagnatilis from Africa (Gaud 1972), Russia (western Siberia), Thailand (Samut Songkhram), ex T. flavipes (Gmelin) from Colombia (Dept. Magdalena, Ciénaga), Bahamas (San Salvador Island), Paraguay (Puerto Pinasco, Alto Paraguay), and ex Calidris himantopus (Bonaparte) from the USA (North Dakota) (Dabert 1997).
