Description
Gromilus veneris (Kirsch, 1877)
Steriphus veneris Kirsch, 1877: 168 (type locality: New Zealand: Auckland Islands, south coast of Rose Island; type material: L: SMTD).
Stilbodiscus setarius Broun, 1909: 118 (type locality: New Zealand: Campbell Island; type material: H: BMNH).
Gromilus veneris veneris; Kuschel, 1964: 464.
Gromilus veneris setarius; Kuschel, 1964: 466, syn. nov.
Immature stages. Larva (May, 1971).
Host plants. Anisotome latifolia Hook. f. (Apiaceae), Bulbinella sp. (Liliaceae), Cotula plumosa Hook. f. and Pleurophyllum criniferum Hook. f. (Asteraceae), and Poa litorosa Cheeseman (Poaceae) (Kuschel, 1964, 1971).
Distribution. New Zealand: Auckland and Campbell Islands (Kuschel, 1964, 1971).
