Distribution. Type locality Rotuma, Fiji Islands. Widespread from Indo-Pacific region, even in the eastern Mediterranean Sea.

Remarks. The specimens agree well with the previous descriptions and illustrations. The species was not previously recorded from Mayotte with certainty, although it ranges widely in the Indo-Pacific region. The specimen of MNHN-Na 17567 was collected together with 1 female of Harpilius consobrinus De Man, 1902 (MNHN-Na 17568) and 1 female of Periclimenaeus zanzibaricus Bruce, 1969 (MNHN-Na 17569) at station 12. The specimen of MNHN-Na 16049 was collected together with 1 male of Cuapetes tenuipes (Borradaile, 1898) (MNHN-Na 16041) and 3 ovigerous females of Jocaste japonica (Ortmann, 1890) (MNHN-Na 17063) at Station 3. The specimen of MNHN-Na 17555 was collected together with 1 male of Harpiliopsis depressa (Stimpson, 1860) (MNHN- Na 16061) at Station 32.
