ECONOMIC ASPECTS OF THE CONSEQUENCES OF OCCUPATIONAL INJURIES

Foreign experience of assessment of losses caused by occupational injuries is analyzed in the article, as well as the definition of economic losses caused by occupational injuries in the Republic of Belarus is provided therein.
Purpose: providing of scientific substantiation of the assessment of losses caused by occupational injuries; the development of proposals for its implementation in the Republic of Belarus.
Methodology: the study was carried out using logical methods of inquiry (analysis, comparison, generalization), theoretical research (formalization); mathematical and economic methods of analysis.
Results: the assessment of economic losses caused by occupational injuries in the Republic of Belarus was accomplished, while such losses being represented by short-term losses of economic subjects and public administration bodies, and long-term losses of the society (losses of labor resources associated with fatal occupational injuries).
Application area for the research results: State occupational safety and health management system.
Conclusions: the results of the assessment of losses caused by occupational injuries make it possible to compare these losses over the years and can serve as a basis for analyzing the effectiveness of measures to improve working conditions and occupational safety and to eliminate causes of occupational injuries.
