Mariateresa Muraca; Antonio Vigilante
The article intends to propose an Italian way to Service Learning, valuing the pedagogy of nonviolence and, in particular, the contribution of Danilo Dolci and Aldo Capitini. After a theoretical and methodological contextualization, we will explore the pedagogical roots of the Latin-American tradition of Service Learning: in particular, we will dwell on the indications of Paulo Freire, with particular attention to the more significant convergences related to the reflection and practice of Dolci and Capitini. Finally, we will point out the central elements of a transformative Learning Service, deepening the relationship with civic education.
