Hosts. Apiaceae: Pimpinella major (L.) Huds., P. saxifraga L. (Spencer 1976).
Mine. (Fig. 249) The larva forms a whitish-brown upper surface secondary blotch mine. Pupation takes place outside the mine.
Puparium. (Figs. 250–252) Greyish-brown, glossy, 1.6 mm long, with shallow but distinct segmentation; surface finely wrinkled except for wide bands of minute spines and the last abdominal segment smooth. Posterior spiracles set on short, stout, cylindrical protuberances and entirely separate; black, with 15 fine sessile bulbs set in a circular configurationin a circular configuration. Ventral portion of last abdominal segment slightly protruding posteriorly viewed from the side. Anal plate distinctly protruding above the surface of the puparium viewed from the side and directed posteriorly.
Cephalopharyngeal skeleton. (Fig. 622) Mouthhooks equal in size and shape, each flattened ventrally with sharp abducted portion directed ventro-anteriorly and bearing two sharp accessory teeth. Intermediate sclerite long and straight, 1.31× as long as maximum height of mouthhook. The mouthhook, the intermediate sclerite and the dorsal cornu ventrally are strongly sclerotized; the dorsal cornu dorsally and ventral cornu are much less so. The ventral cornu bears a narrow “closed” window located centrally. Indentation index 88.
Female head. (Figs. 623, 624) Brown, with only gena yellowish-brown; orbit distinctly projecting above eye in profile; 2 orb s, 2 fr s; lunule very broad, flattened posteriorly, reaching the level of the anterior fr s; pped large, elongated; gena medially 0.25× as high as maximum height of eye.
Female genitalia. (Figs. 625–627) Capsule of spermatheca relatively small, 0.15× as high as height of anterior part of oviscape. Spermathecae equal in size, brown, flattened oval. Internal duct invagination cylindrical, 0.75× as deep as height of spermatheca. Spermathecal duct weakly sclerotized. Ventral receptacle flattened S-shaped, with well sclerotized, bowl-shaped tail that is two-bladed basally. Body of receptacle spherical with slightly curved basal connecting tube, strongly sclerotized, 0.75× as wide as capsule of spermatheca; with narrow opening located on narrow, rim-shaped projection, 0.6× as wide as diameter of spherical part of body.
Distribution. Austria, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, British Isles, the Czech Republic, Germany, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Norway (Papp & Černý 2019). Ukraine (first record).
