Description

Chinattus chichila Logunov, 2003

Figs 1–5, Map

Chinattus chichila Logunov, 2003: 581, figs 1–6 (D ♂ ♀).

Diagnosis and description. See (Logunov 2003).

Comments. This species was described from the three close localities in eastern Nepal (Logunov 2003), from the elevations 1900–2010 m. The new record lies at about 760 m, thus extending the altitudinal distribution of the species by some 1100 m lower. The species can be collected by sweeping over or beating off vegetation in the Lithocarpus /Casatanopsis - and Ericacea -sclerophyll forests (Logunov 2003) and from under stones (present data).

Colour photographs of C. chichila (Figs 1–3, 5) are presented here for the first time; the body colour and colour pattern of the studied female correspond to and are complementary with those given in the detailed description by Logunov (2003: 581).

Material examined. NEPAL: Gandaki: Phewa Tal (lake), Pokhara, 28°12’41.2”N 83°57’21.8”E, 762 m, under stones nr. stream, leg. K. H. Hyatt, 9. V.1954, 1♀ (BMNH).

Distribution. Four close localities in Nepal (Map).
