A Comparative Expected Value Analysis Study to Determine if the Economic Benefits of Screening and Early Diagnosis Treatment of the Most Commonly Recognized Types of Disease in the United States Provide Economic Value

  • 1. La Sierra University, Riverside, California

Description

ABSTRACT: It was found that Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Diabetes, Hepatitis C and HIV / AIDS screening and early diagnosis with treatment provided economic value, while Alzheimer’s, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Cardiovascular Disease, Creutzfeldt-Jakob and Mood Disorder (depression) screening and early diagnosis with treatment were not found to have provided economic value. The current evidence is insufficient to determine if screening and early diagnosis treatment for Sleep Apnea provides economic value.
