ON Maynard 1951 as arborea f. nigra; Skidmore 1995
Remarks: Christiansen & Bellinger (1980) questioned the identity of Nearctic and European specimens treated as V. arboreus.
General distribution: possibly Holarctic, but several species may be involved.
