Remarks: Mills’s record (1934) of Isotoma binoculata Axelson, 1903, was based on McClure’s collection from the vicinity of Churchill, MB. This species, now known as Cryptopygus binoculatus, was recently found in Michigan, USA (Bernard & Snider 1994). Nevertheless, Canadian and earlier Nearctic records probably belong to ekmani (Christiansen & Bellinger 1980, p. 611).

General distribution: Holarctic.
