Remarks: In older publications, Isotoma olivacea was frequently recorded all over the Holarctic (Potapov 2001); recent findings are restricted to Europe and Greenland. The occurrence of true D. olivacea in the northern Nearctic needs confirmation. Skidmore (1995) treated all Nearctic records of the species as belonging to D. tigrina (see remarks on the latter species).

General distribution: Holarctic (?).
