Willemia intermedia Mills 1934

Description

W. intermedia Mills, 1934

Willemia intermedia Mills, 1934: 17

? Willemia biseta Christiansen & Bellinger, 1980: 237

Remarks: A synonymization of W. biseta with W. intermedia on www. collembola.org is probably based on Christiansen & Bellinger’s remark (1980, p. 237) that “this species [biseta] is similar to intermedia in many respects”, although they add “it is also similar to anophthalma ”. In any case, this species is not sufficiently described to make a sound conclusion (D’Haese 2000).

General distribution: Holarctic, with some doubtful southern records.
