Supermodel training: CPT and the synch rule on SPEEDO

Description

This code contains the SPEEDO model, a global coupled ocean-atmosphere-land model (details can be found in Severijns and Hazeleger, 2010). The code is adapted to make it suitable to train a supermodel, a dynamical combination of models. For training the CPT and synch rule method (Selten, 2017 and Schevenhoven, 2019) are used. 

A short description of the folders (further information can be found inside the folders):

CLIO: Ocean-sea-ice component

LBM: Land component

postprocess_SPEEDO: Files to post process the data and make figures

progsandlibs: Necessary programs and libraries to run the SPEEDO model

Results_SPEEDO + allyears_control.zip + allyears_supermodel_CPT_neg.zip : Model output of the different experiments in Schevenhoven (2021): 'Training a supermodel with sparse and noisy observations: a case study with CPT and the synch rule on SPEEDO - v.1'.

AtmosCoupler: Atmosphere component SPEEDY, coupler, and training code CPT and synch rule. Contains:

- AtmosphereCPT: Atmosphere source files, with CPT training implemented. See READme.txt in this folder for more information and how to choose the training parameters.

- AtmosphereSynch: Altered atmosphere source files, with synch rule training implemented. Needs to be used together with the source files in AtmosphereCPT (this is done automatically in the run script run_speedo_synch.sc). See READme.txt in this folder for more information and how to choose the training parameters.

- Restart_2001: Initial data to start the runs with.

- run_speedo_CPT.sc: Script to run CPT training

- run_speedo_synch.sc: Script to run synch rule training
