Description
Abludomelita somovae (Bulycheva, 1952)
Figure 2.
Melita somovae Bulycheva, 1952: 226, fig 25.— Barnard & Barnard, 1983: 666.— Kudrjaschov & Tzvetkova, 1975: 1309, fig. 2.— Tzvetkova & Kudrjaschov, 1985: 321.— Dulepov et al. 1986: 156.
Abludomelita simovae (Bulycheva, 1952) (Sic!)— Karaman 1981: 40.
Abludomelita somovae (Bulycheva, 1952) — Jarret & Bousfield 1996: 10 –11, fig 4.
Non Melita somovae (?) Bulycheva, 1952.— Budnikova & Bezrukov 2003: 204.
Recorded from coastal waters, marine lagoons and river estuaries of southern Sakhalin (Okhotsk Sea) on the littoral and sublittoral down to 20 m on various types of bottom (Tzvetkova & Kudrjaschov 1985; own data). Outside of Sakhalin coastal waters recorded from Peter the Great Bay, from the Tatar Strait (Tzvetkova & Kudrjaschov 1985) and from the South Kuril Islends (Dulepov et al. 1986).
Remarks. Budnikova & Bezrukov (2003) recorded the A. somovae from the shelf of nort-eastern Sakhalin at the depth of 140 m in the layer of constant low temperature (-1.2—+0.5°C). It is unlikely the presence of this warm-water coastal species in the sub-arctic conditions. Probably took place a mistaken determination of the Quasimelita quadrispinosa (Vosseler, 1889) which is a common species at depths more than 100 meters on the shelf of of the northeastern Sakhalin (Labay 2014).
