TYPE LOCALITY: “ in collibus ditionis parmensis [Parmese hills (Italy)]”.

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Pseudogonia rufifrons (Wiedemann, 1803) (Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 262, O’Hara et al. 2009: 117, O’Hara & Cerretti 2016: 152, O’Hara et al. 2020: 503).

REMARKS: Rondani (1859b: 34) described Gonia cinerascens without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens but presumably from more than one specimen because he indicated: “ non rara [not rare]”; he provided specific characters for the male. We found 13 syntypes in this study.
