The paper reveals the features of the organization of methodological work in improving the professional competence of preschool teachers. New priorities of methodological work are determined by the author based on a new goal: the development of professional competence of teachers, training them as subjects of professional activities, subjects of personal self-realization and self-actualization. The essential socio-pedagogical characteristics of the educator as a self-developing subject of professional activities and behavior are identified and described, and on their basis the leading guidelines for the organization of methodological work are formed, effective means for achieving the desired result are determined.
