Genre Features of Interviews in Modern Information Space

  • 1. Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts

Description

The article is devoted to understanding the genre features of interviews in the modern information space.

The theoretical and methodological basis of the study were the works of modern journalists. In particular, I. Artamonova studied the specifics of genre formation in the mass media. N. Vyhovska studies the manifestation of multimedia in the adaptation of information genres on the Internet. T. Popova and others devoted their research to the study of television interviews from the standpoint of semantic and pragmatic aspects.

It has been found that today informational texts in the media more and more loudly declare themselves, whose authors do not hide behind the narrator image, as in classical fiction, and speak with the recipient. The research states that the interview is considered one of the principal information genres in journalism. It is actively used in the mass media practice, in particular, in the structure of information-analytical and artistic-journalistic programs.

The article emphasizes that a considerable genre feature of any interview is its dialogical nature. The thematic diversity of such a popular genre today as interviews in print and electronic media is determined by two main types: 1) interviews in connection with something; 2) interview about nothing.

Based on the research, it was concluded that journalistic materials have a predominantly dialogical nature, regardless of whether they are inherent in a dialogue form of presentation (as in an interview or a conversation) or not. The author of journalistic material, in many cases, directly appeals to the reader or argues for him something important in consciousness as for the interlocutor. That is why in journalistic texts of many genres, specific questions are raised, answers are offered, evidence is given in favor of one or another point of view, and counter-evidence is put forward, etc., which creates the illusion of mutual exchange of views with the reader. The formation of ideas about the genre features of journalism has great practical importance since it makes it possible to consciously focus on one or another cognitive situation for the creation of a particularly specific type of text, as close as possible to adequately cover the facts of interest to the audience and the media.
