Journalistic Rhetorics and Pragmatics "Figures of Construction" and Persuasive Strategies in the Titles from the Romanian Publicism

Rezumat

Studiul nostru îşi propune să prezinte rezultatele unei analize, privind prezenţa enunţurilor, aparţinând „discursului repetat”, în discursul publicistic românesc actual. Ne-am limitat la observarea, în decursul a două luni (martie şi aprilie 2008), a titlurilor de articole din ediţiile on-line ale trei publicaţii româneşti (două cotidiene – “Jurnalul naţional” şi “Evenimentul zilei” şi o publicaţie periodică – revista “Dilema veche”). Enunţurile-titlu, aparţinând „discursului repetat”, au fost interpretate mai ales din prisma destructurării şi restructurării acestuia, potrivit celor patru „figuri de construcţie”, analizate de Quintilian: detractio (=suprimare), adiectio (=adăugare), immutatio (=înlocuire) şi transmutatio (=permutare de termeni).

Abstract

The analytical framework of my research is based on analyzing the journalistic discourse. My investigation is grounded in a corpus of titles from the journalistic area. Titles are ways of interacting and claim to be dialogical. Dialogicality is the degree to which other discourses, voices, positions, representatives of other groups of people and interests are present in the journalistic discourse in a form of interaction which is undistorted. In looking of journalistic texts, one can notice that the titles in the journalistic discourse disguise an oscillation between informing and persuading (or between telling and selling).
