LINGUISTIC AND SOCIAL FEATURES OF SLANG

The article examines the features of the use of youth slang in the modern English language. The purpose of the article is to analyze the use of slang expressions among the younger generation. The definition of slang is beginning to attract the attention of modern philology. Now there are quite a large number of definitions of slang, which quite often contradict each other. This article is devoted to the analysis of the concept of youth slang in modern English. The relevance of our research lies in the fact that youth slang is in continuous development. Modern slang in English, being an integral part of the language, is one of the most relevant and controversial problems of modern lexicology. This research contributes to solving the problem of definition, formation, and the main distinguishing features of the phenomenon under study.
