Description

Linguistic norms is the issue that has always drawn researchers’ attention as such that are central to the study оfa language. Linguistic normsbroken by modern authors to state pragmatical motives have not been sufficiently analysed yet. Therefore, the aim of this research is to analyse the texts of modern writersin order to find intentional orthographic mistakes and show writers’linguocreativity, which forms a new kind of linguistic norms. The object of the research is texts of such modern writers as A. Bachynskyi, Y. Izdryk, O. Zabuzhko, M. Matios, L. Ro-manchuk and others. They contain the examples of breaking the norms of modern graphics and orthographics. There is no fixed definition of the term «norm» in conventional linguistics, which is caused by the existence of different approaches to the interpretation of normativity. In this article, pragmatic norm results from intentionalviolation of established orthographic norms by modern authors. A pragmatic norm is known to be a special use of speech means to achieve effective and expressive communication. To establish a pragmatic norm, writers use such methods as the abnormal usage of capital letters: abnormal writing of a word with a capital letter; capitalizing the initial, middle or final letter of a word; capitalizing several initial, middle or final letters; spelling the whole word in capital letters on the background of small letters; capitalizing letters to highlight a certain lexeme in a lexeme as well as using another letter instead of a normative one; omitting a letter or adding one or several extra letters on purpose; separating letters from words with the help of a hyphen; separating a letter and adding it to a word with the help of the Ukrainian conjunction «і», which represents the insertion of another word, etc. The article also characterizes the modeling of a pragmatic norm, which is focused on the Ukrainian graphical system. In fact, such a pragmatic norm is realized in the literary works of modern Ukrainian writers. Furthermore, it helps to show and express feelings and emotions, and enables the author to intimate a text, represent its modality, manipulate with meanings, encode or decode them.  To sum it up, it goes without saying that breaking linguistic norms on purpose leads to the formation of the author’s individual style. Its existence is the proof of the originality and richness of the writer’s individual and figurative thinking.
